   Overview

Have you dreamed of trekking across open Alaskan tundra or lonely alpine passes where few ever go? Wrangell-St. Elias National Park is Alaskan adventure at its finest. Wrangell-St. Elias is the largest national park in the country, by far, and yet remains much less visited than tourist magnets like Denali. This ruggedly beautiful country defines remote Alaskan wilderness and offers unparalleled opportunities for backcountry hiking and trekking. Journey into this seldom visited wilderness with the confidence of having a professional guide to lead the way.

For many, an Alaskan backpacking adventure is a trip of a lifetime - so they want to do it right. Trek Alaska's knowledge and experience of the deep backcountry of this amazing wilderness is second to none. In fact, they wrote the book on Wrangell-St. Elias. Owner Greg Fensterman is the author of Hiking Alaska’s Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, published by Falcon Books and available April 2008.

Trek Alaska has easier trips that are great for families as well as more challenging treks for the adventurous. Trek Alaska is offering a wide range of trips from three to four-day trips to extended eight to nine-day backcountry treks.

Why Trek Alaska?
There are a lot of outdoor adventure providers out there who offer trips in Alaska and Wrangell-St. Elias specifically. But for Trek Alaska, Wrangell-St. Elias isn't just one niche in a long list of destinations - this is their home. Trek Alaska specializes in backcountry treks in this unique corner of Alaska.

Trek Alaska strives to offer a more intimate wilderness encounter than the typical large tour groups can provide. Their groups are small and the individual attention begins with your first contact with them. Trek Alaska doesn't just take you on cookie cutter trips. but rather customizes a trip to your interests and ability. Trek Alaska spends time each summer exploring new areas where others seldom or never go.

Just because you’re in the wilderness doesn’t mean you have to subsist on freeze-dried meals. Trek Alaska guests frequently remark that they eat better on backcountry treks than they do at home!
