Overview
World Expeditions specializes in small group treks and adventure holidays. They have been operating sensitive and responsible “off the beaten track” adventures to the world’s most fascinating destinations since they began operating in 1975. Today, with offices around the globe, World Expeditions offers a wide range of small group journeys, adventures, and expeditions to every continent on earth, following their committed principles on responsible travel and true sustainability.
Over the years, World Expeditions has built an international reputation as a provider of high quality, small group adventures focusing on unique experiences to destinations that involve real cultural immersion with the local people. Their creative itineraries combined with the use of quality ground services attract adventurous spirits who have high expectations of their travel experiences.
Why Travel with World Expeditions?
World Expeditions’ trips are all-inclusive and represent exceptional value – with no hidden extras. They avoid having local payments and what they don’t include provides you with the flexibility to enjoy more of the local flavors. World Expeditions’ “no single supplement” policy is another example of their commitment to offer great value-for-money travel. Should World Expeditions not find a roommate for you, they will absorb the cost of the single supplement.
World Expeditions’ local employment policy and high standards of training ensure that their travelers receive the best possible care on their trip. There is no better person to teach travelers about the landscape and culture than an experienced local guide.
Responsible Travel
More than three decades ago, long before the term ‘eco-tourism’ became fashionable, World Expeditions had already made a commitment to play a part in reducing the impact of tourism on environments and cultures around the world. Their outgoing commitment to sustainable travel continues today. World Expeditions is proud of their track record on sustainability and many of their destinations are in the same or better condition now, after years of careful visitation, than when World Expeditions first went there.
World Expeditions’ award-winning Responsible Travel Guidebook sets out in detail their environmental objectives and how you can play a part in reducing your impact on the environments and cultures visited on these adventures.
Giving Something Back
World Expeditions’ philanthropic programs add to their philosophy of giving something back. World Expeditions’ current initiatives are Community Project Travel and Charity Challenges. The concept behind theses programs is based on the ethos of “travel with a purpose”.
No specific skills are required to join Community Projects; a range of small group adventures, each about two weeks in length, whereby participants commit four to five days of their holiday to making a difference to a community in need.
Since the development of their “Charity Challenge” concept in 1997, World Expeditions has successfully organized over 300 adventures for charities ranging from large international agencies to smaller local charitable causes. Their experience and expertise has enabled numerous charities to raise significant amounts of money and has ensured that participants have an experience of a lifetime. World Expeditions recently has created HUMA Challenge, their latest “Charity Challenge” division, in order to help charities raise much needed funds for their cause.
Journeys as Individual as You Are
While World Expeditions offers an extensive range of programs, they recognize that they may not suit your personal requirements. With all this experience under their belt, World Expeditions is well suited to develop an itinerary perfectly suited to the needs of private groups whether for families, friends, schools or special-interest groups. World Expeditions’ staff will work with you, using their expertise and experience to help make your ultimate adventure a reality.
